Lot of 2: Silver gelatin photograph, 4.75 x 6.75 in., on 7 x 11 in. mount with original foldover. Front cover with detailed period inscription, which reads: "Walla Walla, Wash. Sept. 27th, 1910. Taken at Dayton Wash. Sept 12th, 1910. Gasoline Motor No. 3. OR & N.C. 70 ft Long. Seats 90 Passengers. 200 Horse Power Engine. On level track will make 70 miles per hour. In the Picture is Shown Master William H. Farley the Little King. Cond. H. D. Farley, Brakeman Ed Barry and Motorman Terrell. Mr. and Mrs. H. E. Hoffman. Elk Point, South Dak." This almost certainly references the "Oregon Railroad and Navigation Company." Fine image with excellent provenance. Silver gelatin photograph, 6.5 x 8.5 in., on 10 x 12 in. mount, showing five railroad workers or officials standing in front of a locomotive, credited to Westphal lower right. With a purple gallery stamp on the reverse which reads "A. Westphal Commercial Photographer 1426 State Street Apt. 10 Milwaukee, Wis." Likely taken in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Condition: Each in very good condition overall. Walla Walla image a a bit dark. Milwaukee image a bit light.
