Ragionamenti del Sig. Cavaliere Giorgio Vasari ..sopra le inventioni da lui dipinte in Firenze nel Palazzo di loro Altezze Serenissime., first edition, woodcut printer's device to title and verso of final f., portrait of Vasari and initials, spotted, heavier to preliminaries and a few other ff., a few ff. browned, small marginal worm traces to some ff., a few small water-stains (mostly marginal), front free endpaper loose, contemporary ink inscription 'Jacobi Joye' to head of title, 17th century calf, gilt royal arms to upper cover, upper cover detached, spine ends chipped, lower joint split, but hgolding firm, corners worn, rubbed, [Cicognara 225; EDIT 16 CNCE 28801], small 4to, Florence, Filippo Giunta, 1588. *** The scarce first edition of Vasari's account of his own paintings for the Palazzo Vecchio. The work is written in the form of a dialogue between Vasari and the dedicatee Francesco de'Medici.
