Visitor's book, manager's room, London Hippodrome [so titled on upper cover], circa 1924-40, a theatrical autograph album containing several hundred mostly theatrical autographs on rectos and some versos of 54 leaves, most pages with 10 to 20 autographs plus a few cartoons and musical quotations, some dated, autographs include George Robey, Herman Finck, Tom Webster A.C. Mackenzie, Edmund Gwenn, Hughie Green, Paul Wightman, Sachs Rohmer (with head-and-shoulders sketch), Margaret Bannerman, Bebe Daniels, Ben Lyon, Ted Lewis, Edward Sylvester Hynes, Leslie Henson, John Hassall (with sketch), Edgar Wallace, Jack Hylton, Lupino Lane, Billy Bennett, seven members of the Australian cricket team in among many other names on a page dated 26 June 1926 (C.G. Macartney, H.L. Collins, W.M. Woodfull, T.J.E. Andrews, W. Bardsley, J. Ryder), Harry Lauder (full page self-caricature), Fred Terry, C.B. Cochran, Betty Balfour, Alex Herd, Oscar Hammerstein, Jerome Kern ('Can't help lovin' Dat man', autograph musical quotation signed), Henry Cotton, Harry Nichols, Tom Titt K.S. Duleepsinhji, A.H.H. Gilligan, Benno Moiseiwitsch, Sigmund Romberg, Charlie Chaplin (with self-caricature head), Stan Laurel (dated August 1932 and to verso of Chaplin autograph), Herbert Chapman [Arsenal FC manager], Carol Brisson, etc., blank leaves at rear, some signatures with dedications to the visitors book owner Frank Boor whose ownership signature dated 10 December 1924 appears at the front, hinges partly cracked and old tape repair to inner hinges at front, all edges gilt, contemporary gilt-decorated padded red morocco, rubbed and a little wear, 4to (25 x 20 cm) (1)
