FIRST SEPARATE EDITION of Manon Lescaut , with 3-line imprint. It was probably printed in France, perhaps in Rouen. The story, the exemplar of the faithless woman who inspires overwhelming passion, first appeared two years earlier as the final volume of Prévost's Mémoirs d'un homme de qualité .
