Description: Post 1902 Royal Army Medical Corps Officers Home Service Pattern Helmet, superb example of a blue cloth home service pattern officers helmet with gilt metal officers helmet plate of the Royal Army Medical Corps, gilt metal rosette side bosses, linked velvet back chin scales, cruciform base with rosette fittings and ball top. Interior of the helmet retains the original leather sweatband and silk lining. Helmet was retailed by Holt & Son Piccadilly, London. Label to the sweatband with inked name “Colbett”. Item is housed in an associated Home Service pattern metal storage tin with brass plaque having details “T Barton Urwin Esq R.A.M.C”. The helmet remains in superb condition retaining nearly all of the fire gilt wash finish to the fittings and the blue cloth body remains bright and fresh. Categories: Headdress
