Polar Medal 1904, G.VI.R., bronze, 1 clasp, Antarctic 1931-37 (Joseph Reid) extremely fine £2500-3000 Footnote Only four Bronze medals issued with this clasp per London Gazette 7 October 1941. Joseph Reid spent seven seasons, including winter voyages, in the Antarctic engaged on research work. He served as an ordinary seaman in William Scoresby during 1930-31, as an ordinary seaman in Discovery II during 1932-33, and as an able seaman in Discovery II during 1933-37
