Contemp. overl. limp vellum (sl. soiled, endpapers lifted), flat spine titled in ink. Nice copy. Second Plantin edition of the classic emblem book by A. Alciatus (1492-with commentary by Claude Mignault (1536-1606), prof. in Canon law in Paris. Illustrated with woodcut emblems. Woodcut printer's mark on title. Ref. Voet (Plantin Press) - BT - Landwehr (Low Countries) - Adams A-- Pettegree (NB) - Not in Sorgeloos, STC Dutch (BL). Prov.
