Nolli, the first dated 1748; map of Paris ( Plan Routier de la Ville et Faubourg de Paris ) by Nolin, 1751, extended with an engraved view at top and caption at bottom; 2 views of Mt. Vesuvius, the first of 1751 by Nicolo d'Orati, the second by Morghen and F.G. Giardi; a map of Pozzuoli by Nicolo Petrini, 1750; Matthaeus GREUTER, view of Frascati, Rome: 1620; a view of the gardens of Friedrich Heinrich of Nassau at Honsholerdik; and 3 others. 20th-century half red morocco by Maltby of Oxford. Provenance : John Man (19th-century inscription). Piranesi's very rare Le Magnificenze was a collection by Bouchard of selected early plates from the Vedute di Roma , together with other early series by Piranesi. Hind (p.82) located only four copies of the work, no two of which are identical, and suggested that copies may have been bound up on demand. Whereas other copies contain about 34 plates of the Vedute , the present copy contains 9. To them have been added a wide selection of 17th- and 18th-century plates of Rome, Paris and London.
