Woodcut anchor device on title. Title ruled in red. (Washed, erasing early Greek annotations and corrections, some foxing or discoloration.) Late 18th- or early 19th-century English red morocco, covers and smooth spine panelled with single gilt fillet, egdes gilt and gauffred with semi-circles (rebacked preserving original backstrip, edges of covers worn and darkened); morocco-backed slipcase with chemise. Provenance : Crosby Gaige (typographic book-label; sale, New York, Union Art Galleries, 25 April 1934).
