PHOTOS AND NOTES OF BABE RUTH AND MARION DAVIES In the 1920's Babe Ruth and movie star Marion Davies participated in a promotion for Sunkist Oranges which was arranged by their mutual agent Christy Walsh. This lot consists of three original photos of Ruth and Davies used for the promotion, together with an exchange of personal notes between them. On "Santa Fe Chief" stationery, Ruth writes in pencil Miss Davies - Just found out you were on the train. Would like to see you again and talk about oranges. The picture we had taken at the studio last winter - Babe Ruth - Car 200. On the back of the letter Miss Davies drew a cartoon of Ruth and addressed the note to Mr. Babe Ruth, car 200 . She writes, in pencil, Dear Mr. Ruth - Be delighted to talk about oranges any time. Marion Davies -- 8 x 10 inches. (3)
