Beschreibung:

Houdini, Harry. Photograph of Houdini and A.M. Wilson. Stamped on the verso, “Nov. 1, 1923.” Candid image shows the two magicians outside an Orpheum Theatre (possibly in Kansas City), in front of a Houdini “for president” three-sheet poster. Houdini’s hands rest on a “No Parking by order of Police Department” sign. 3 ½ x 4 ½”. Upper margin chip, paper remnant on image. Wilson and Houdini were, for years, bitter enemies. Their feud played out in print in the pages of The Sphinx, the magic magazine Wilson edited.
