This is an absolutely wonderful piece of Americana: a cast iron full-figured George Washington, mounted on a clockwork wind cigar cutter, advertising the Continental 10¢ cigar. There is advertising on three of four sides, made by the Brunhoff Specialty Co. The cigar cutter is fully operational and there are no cracks, breaks or repairs, both the George Washington's figure as well as the cutter. It retains some original black paint, with an overlaid wax providing a phenomenal aged patina. Proceeds from the sale of this lot are being donated by the consignor to the Fayette Regional Humane Society in Washington Court House OH. Condition: (Very Good).
