"Der Betrunkene" Gemälde Öl/Leinwand (wachsdoubliert), 71 cm x 89,5 cm, rechts unten signiert und datiert 1860, P.P.Sokolov geboren in Sankt Petersburg, Ausbildung an der St. Petersburger Kunstakademie von 1840-1843 bei Karl Petrovic Brülow. 1855 offiziell-akademischer Titel "Portrait und Aquarellmaler", 1899 Aufnahme in die Ehrengilde der "Akademiker". Er malte Genre Bilder und schuf Meisterkompositionen zum Thema "Bauernleben" zB. die Landkutsche, Dorfbegräbnis, Reise im Winter und "Der Betrunkene", letzteres Gemälde erhielt 1889 die Goldene Medaille in Paris. Sokolov, born in Saint Petersburg, educated at the St. Petersburg art academy between 1840-1843 by Karl Petrovic Brülow. In 1855, he got the official academic title "Portrait and watercolour painter". He painted genre pictures and made masterly compositions from the theme "Farmer life" for example "the landwagon", "village funeral", "journey in the winter" and "The intoxicated", and this painting received the gold medal in Paris in 1889.
