Engraved porttrait, title and 67 plates, mostly folding or double-page, including a splendid double-page view up the Seine showing the projected Pont Louis XVI not found in all copies. 2 vols. folio, contemporary calf, edges worn, joints starting, small hole in margin of title, generally a very clean set. FIRST EDITION. A magnificent record of one the most ambitious constructions in the ancien rgime , by the dominating figure in public works at that time. Perronet was the co-founder, with Trudaine, intendant des finances in charge of roads and bridges, of the cole des Ponts et Chausses in 1747. Brunet IV:515
