ONE OF FEW LIFETIME EDITIONS OF THESE FUNDAMENTAL TALES, and the fourth unauthorized edition of The Tales of Mother Goose (first published in 1697). All early editions are rare; the Catalogue Collectif de France and RLG record no copy. The tales comprise Sleeping Beauty , Little Red Riding Hood , Blue Beard , Puss in Boots , Diamonds and Toads , Cinderella , Riquet with the Tuft , and Tom Thumb . The dedication to 'Mademoiselle', the niece of Louis XIV, is signed P. Darmancour, Perrault's third son (1678-1700) whose contribution to this text is well documented.
