Partly printed document signed, countersigned by James Claypoole (1634-1686), London, 11 September 1682, 1 page, a narrow oblong, on parchment, accomplished in manuscript, on parchment, remains of large red wax seal , a receipt for "Fifty pounds Sterling, for the use of the Free Society of Traders in Pennsilvania ...," verso with autograph endorsement of Philip Ford, merchant who had William Penn jailed. Rare. -- EDWARD SHIPPEN, President of the Pennsylvania Council . Autograph note signed to "Friend Tho. Maldee," Boston, 1 May 1702, 1 page, 24mo , on some lands he owns, advising "sell them for what they will yield" and "make ye such an abatement on them as thou shall be a ganier..." Rare -- WILLIAM MOORE President of the Supreme Council of Pennsylvania . Document signed as President, Philadelphia, 7 March 1782, 1 page, oblong 4to, browned, chip at corner lacking , headed "In Council," authorizing David Rittenhouse Treasurer, to pay George Bryan L 75 "for his services as one of the Commissioners for Superintending the Sales of City lots, and reporting lots belonging to the publick, occupied by private persons," verso endorsed and signed by Bryan, President previously -- FREDERICK MUHLENBERG, President of the Pennsylvania Council of Censors, Delegate to Continental Congress, Speaker of the House of Representatives . Autograph letter signed to Comptroller John Nicholson "Chamber of the Council of Censors," 13 January 1784, 1 page, folio, browned, folds weak , ordering payment to James Read for "wages as a member of the Council of Censors" -- JOSEPH REED President of the Pennsylvania Provincial Congress, President of the Supreme Executive Council, Washington's Secretary, 1775. Autograph letter signed to William Moore Reading, 9 October 1780, 1 page, 4to, integral address leaf with small seal hole , advising that "On further Examination I have admitted Baltzer Umpehagher to Bail...he appearing to be less concerned in the Business than at first & having his son now in Service..."; together 5 items .
