Pennsylvania or Ohio full stock flintlock long rifle, approximately .40 caliber, with tiger maple stock, four-piece brass patchbox, trigger guard, crescent butt plate and engraved side plate, the cheek rest with trapezoid silver inlaid panel, eight-pointed star, trefoil, thumb escutcheon and other scrolled inlays, the lock is unmarked, set trigger, the barrel is stamped BELL, with a dovetailed blade front sight, 46 1/4" octagonal barrel. Provenance: The Collection of Edie & Bruce Smart, Upperville, Virginia. Condition: Missing two barrel wedges.
