Patek Philippe & Co., Geneve, No.24139: A fine and rare gold two-train two time-zone independent jumping seconds and minute repeating keyless hunter pocketwatch in plain case with five-piece hinges engraved to the front and back covers in traditional Viaz script Aleksei Aleksandrovich Sapozhnikov , the white enamel dial with outer seconds ring calibrated in red Arabic five-second divisions, two eccentric chapter rings with Roman numerals, the upper with blued steel moon hands, the lower with gold moon hands, the two chapters capable of being set independently by operating a lever in the bezel at 3 o'clock to give the two time-zone function, a sweep centre seconds hand to the centre indicating jumping seconds, stopped by a lever in the bezel at 12 o'clock, which also stops the upper chapter ring giving the stopwatch function, the frosted gilt bar movement with unusual layout jewelled throughout with bi-metallic balance, Breguet overcoil to the flat blued hairspring, counterpoised lever escapement, simultaneous wolf-tooth winding to the two spring barrels, unusual flirt mechanism for the independant seconds, repeating on two gongs operated by a slide in the band, signed and numbered to the dial, case and cuvette, with extract from the archives of the manufacturer stating the watch was made in 1864 and sold on the 6th September 1866, and a copy of the letter from the makers stating it had been bought by Alexander N. Zuckoff 55mm.diam.
