A finely bound set of Parry’s four voyages, with the preferred second edition of the first volume with the first appearance of the Supplement and the first edition of the other voyages. Comprising a record of Parry's important efforts to discover the Northwest passage on the Hecla and Fury . The expeditions collected a great deal of data on the position of the magnetic pole and arctic wildlife. For the Appendix to Parry's second voyage, see the following lot. Engraved frontispieces; vol. 1: 15 plates plus 6 in Supplement, 4 folding maps (one small repair to margin); vol. 2: 30 plates, 8 folding maps and charts bound at rear (a little marginal wear to final charts); vol. 3: 8 plates, 2 folding maps and charts; vol. 4: 5 plates, 1 folding map (some foxing).
