LE MIRE, and MARTIN MARVIE after MICHEL-ANGE SLODTZ, JACQUES FRANçOIS BLONDEL and ANTOINE BENOIST (some dampstaining). Modern half morocco, marbled boards. A description of the wedding festivities held in Paris in February 1747 for LOUIS, Dauphin of France, and his second wife MARIA JOSEPHA (1731-1767), Princess of Saxony. The text provides details of the elaborate celebration organized by order of Louis XV, King of France, and included balls, musicial performances, illuminations, processions, and fireworks. The plates illustrate the five elaborate chariots built for the procession, as well as the the fireworks apparati erected in the place de l'Hotel de Ville.
