Two portrait frontispieces and 235 plates on 232 sheets, many of which are folding (vol 1: 53 (1 additional); vol 2: 51; vol 3: 52 on 50 sheets; vol 4: 54; vol 5: 25). Many pages uncut. Contemporary parchment covered limp boards with manuscript spine labels and visible ties. Condition: light foxing, affecting some plates, and browning to edges; very light wear to covers, small labels to foot of spines, manuscript labels lightly rubbed with vol. 5 missing portions. a wide margined copy in original boards. Considered the first critical reappraisal of the architecture of Palladio, Scamozzi published the first volume of this work in 1776 focusing just on Palladio's work in the region of Venice. A complete folio edition was published in 1786, and Giovanni Rossi published this, the first quarto edition in 1796.
