These delicate clips demonstrate the combination of these two themes in their abstraction of flowing organic forms by using a Plique-a-Jour enameling technique. Plique-a-jour, French for " open to light" was a tool used by Art Nouveau jewelers to juxtapose light and dark, and create a miniature stained glass window in their creations.
