Beschreibung:

Pair of Art Nouveau Gold, Silver, Plique-a-Jour Enamel and Diamond Wing Hair Clip Ornaments The stylized wings of light blue and green plique-a-jour enamel, accented by 2 old-mine and numerous rose-cut diamonds, swivels at clip fitting. PLEASE NOTE THAT 2 DIAMONDS ARE MISSING. Art Nouveau jewelry, at its height at the turn of the 20th century, took its inspiration from nature, as well as Japanese themes. These delicate clips demonstrate the combination of these two themes in their abstraction of flowing organic forms by using a Plique-a-Jour enameling technique. Plique-a-jour, French for " open to light" was a tool used by Art Nouveau jewelers to juxtapose light and dark, and create a miniature stained glass window in their creations. Kelekian Family Collection
Clips swivel on hinge, one not as tight. 2 rose-cut diamonds missing. Minor tarnish on veins of one clip. Enamel in good condition. Length: 3 3/4"
