This volume contains reproductions of paintings from Picasso's private collection of his own works. The American photographer David Douglas Duncan (1916-2018), known for his dramatic combat photographs, struck up a friendship with Picasso in Cannes in 1956. The present work is the result of more than six months spent at the artist's home, during which time Duncan photographed more than 500 works in Picasso's collection.
PROVENANCE:Inscribed by Picasso to Simone de Ferranti, wife of British businessman and Conservative Party politician Basil de Ferranti (1930-1988).
