Jany. 22nd, left Kansas City May 7th, arrived in Mines Sept. 15. Walked from Kansas City to Sacramento I think about 2200 miles. Wm. Woodward." And on the other side, "We left Kansas City Missouria May 7th 1849 arrived in the mines about 75 miles from Sacramento City Sept. 15th we numbered 81 men and 18 ox teams..."
