Of interest, is the description and folding map of the Laguna of Dolores which commemorated the report by Gov. Neve of 1777 referring to a Lake Dolores that was located in San Francisco, near where the Protestant Orphan Asylum stood in 1877, which site is today bounded by Haight, Buchanan, Hermann and Laguna Streets.
