Provenance : S. Harrington (ownership inscription on front free endpaper). FIRST EDITION OF "THE BEST ENGLISH WORK ON MEDICINE OF ITS TIME (Garrison-Morton-Norman). The author was Regius Professor of Medicine at Oxford from 1904, and "besides being one of the greatest of all clinicians, he was possessed of a fine literary style and an extensive knowledge of medical bibliography" (Garrison-Morton-Norman 2231).
