Kaiser, Kurfürsten und Reichstände. - Sorgfältig gereinigt und neu aufgeleimt, durchgängig restauriert, stellenweise noch gering gebräunt oder fleckig. Titel noch etwas angeschmutzt und verstärkt, unten noch kl. Randeinriß und Eckausriß. Die 3 Bll. Vorstücke verso oben noch mit großen bräunlichen Flecken (ehemaliger Wasserschaden), das letzte der 3 Bll. ebenso wie das Kolophon und das Bl. mit Druckermarke am Schluß mit großem ergänztem Eckausriß (bei dem Indexbl. mit minimalem Buchstabenverlust). Ansicht von Tempe mit hinterlegtem Randeinriß bis in den Bildrand. Neu aufgefalzt und Büge verstärkt. Last edition of the Parergon, complete with 44 maps and plates. "This atlas of ancient geography is a highly personal work by Abraham Ortelius since he did not, as in the Theatrum, copy others' maps but drew the originals himself and had them engraved by Jan Wierix... The maps and plates are the most outstanding engravings depicting the widespread interest in classical geography in the sixteenth century" (K.). - Cleaned and reglued, restored throughout, only slight occasional browning or spotting. Title still somewhat dusty and reinforced, small tear and corner tear to lower margin. Preliminary leaves verso with large brownish stains at top due to water damage, the last of the 3 as well as the colophon and leaf with printer's mark with corner tear supplied (index leaf with minor loss of lettering). Repaired marginal tear to view of Tempe (just affecting engr. area). Guarded and folds reinforced. Bound in modern calf gilt.
