Beschreibung:

Decorative plate. [Iran, ca. mid-20th century]. Engraved copper, repouseé and punched; zinc plated. The surface is completely decorated with arabesques in vegetal and geometric patterns. In the center appear a medallion with the Hebrew inscription "The Twelve Tribes of Israel" with a Star of David in its center and a monogram. All around it appear hexagons with the symbols of the Twelve Tribes, and on the margins - the Hebrew verse "If I Forget Thee Oh Jerusalem…" followed by the blessing "Baruch Shem Kevodo Leolam Vaed, Shenat Tekuma". Diameter: 72.5 cm, height: 4.5 cm. Good condition. Stains and some bends. Suspension loop.
