This remarkable album, prepared by the Air Photo Unit of the 58th Wing of the Army Air Force and marked "Restricted" on the front pastedown, records the movements of the men and women involved in the series of nuclear weapon tests at the Bikini Atoll in July of 1946. The album opens on the streets of Roswell, NM, then shows the men voyaging to the South Seas, then the elaborate preparations for the testing, followed by stunning shots of both the Able and Baker tests. There are also candid shots of the Bikini natives who were displaced from their home by radiation and transplanted to Kwajalein, where they struggled to support themselves.
