Beschreibung:

One of the most readily recognised cars of the 1960s, thanks in part to countless appearances in films and on television, Jaguar’s seminal Mk2 saloon set the standard for the class throughout its entire production life and today remains highly prized by enthusiasts. With the advent of the Mk2, the 3.8-litre version of Jaguar’s XK six became available for the first time in the company’s medium-sized saloon, which in top-of-the-range, 3.8-litre, manual/ overdrive configuration was a genuine 125mph car capable of reaching 60mph in 8.5 seconds, outstanding figures for a saloon of its size even by today’s standards. This left-hand drive example of the Jaguar Mk2 in its ultimate, 3.8-litre, overdrive and wire wheel-equipped form has never undergone restoration but been well maintained throughout its life. In the resent ownership for the past 20 years, it displays a total of circa 78,000 kilometres on the odometer. We are advised that the engine was rebuilt in 1983 and that the car has covered approximately 17,000 kilometres since then. Road tested prior to sale, it proved a willing performer, accelerating vigorously and maintaining ‘regulation’ oil pressure. We understand that the fitting of a ‘Fuel Star’ device, enabling the motor to run on unleaded fuel, is the sole departure from factory specification. Finished most attractively in dark blue with original red leather interior equipped with period Blaupunkt radio, the car is described by the private vendor as in good condition in every respect. The vehicle is offered with engine rebuild invoices, valid roadworthiness certificate and Swiss Permis de Circulation.
