Harwood of Franklin County, O. and signed by Governor David Todd; AND includes pair of tinted spectacles reputedly used by him during the war as sniper's glasses, but given the unit history this seems unlikely. Thomas enlisted on April 24, 1861, with Co. I, 18th Ohio Vol. infantry, which laid telegraph line and guarded trains until discharged, never saw action, but still performed important duty. Condition: Folds with some separation along same, else VG.
