Verheiden: Ende nu in Neer-Duijtsch overgeset door P.d.K. The Haugue, Beuckel Corneliszoon Nieulandtm 1603, (11),147,(1) lvs, w. engr. title-p, 50 full-p. portraits, 1 full-p. ill. at the endwoodcut printer's mark at the end, contemp. calf, gilt and ribbed spine spine w. later mor. letterpiece and dated in giltlettering at foot of spine "Graven Hagh 1603", 4to.
Title-p. and following leaf lack sm. blank portion of upper outer corner. Occas. other sm. internal defects, old index of the portraits in pen on lower free endpaper. A (very) good, attractive copy. Pastedowns w. 3 bookplates: John Jackson presented to the Warrington Museum and Library (Oct. 1875), County Borough of Warrington Municipal Library and Franciscus Cornelis Giselmus graaf Cuypers Seig,r de Rijmenam (...). Binding worn along extremities, joints split but good holding on cords. Hollstein IX,159; Lipperheide Oc 11 (Latin edition of 1725); Van Someren I,169c. Fine, early 17th cent. work, containing beautifully engr. portraits of Erasmus, Luther, Melanchthon, Jonas, Cruciger, Zwingli, Calvin, Beza etc.
