Description: Oil on Canvas Portrait Painting of a Georgian Officer, head and shoulders portrait of a typical officer from the early Georgian period, open collar coatee tunic with white cravat, officers winged epaulettes with tassels and white cross belt having brass cross belt plate showing. The portrait appears to be mounted in a later gilt surround frame with a copy of a Georgian gorget placed to the centre. The reverse of the canvas has the remains of a paper label which has inked details, but this is no longer legible. Couple of small chips to the canvas and would benefit from a professional clean. Frame measures 54 x 69cms. Categories: Military Art
