Offered for sale is a .298L 1961 BMW Isetta manual that has been with the current owner for the last 5 years. Coming with a partial history file, this lot's condition scores an impressive 114 / 135.
Classic Car Auctions says: A quirky little gem! With its one-off paint scheme, this beautiful BMW Isetta has literally just been finished after a complete nut and bolt rebuild which has encompassed every aspect of this rare little car including the bodywork, chassis, engine, gearbox with all ancillaries and the complete interior. The latter has also been finished in a coordinating colour scheme with the paintwork but favouring a leather finish as opposed to the original plastic. This Isetta took the current vendor 2 years to complete and has covered just three hundred miles since being put back on the road. This September, the Isetta won the best 'Restoration Project' of the year at the National Microcar Rally at Hatton Park near Warwick, which is testament to the very high standard of work and level of detail achieved by the current vendor. Having two other Isettas, this owner knows what he is talking about and has confirmed that this diminutive example of sixties personal transport has never been better than it is today. Step back in time and become the proud owner of this wonderful piece of British motoring history.
