Together 4 pages, 4to, dust-soiled and a bit worn . 20 January 1927: "Glad to hear that Eugene O'Neil's play did so well, & that the Abbey has added it to the repertory of the Theatre. Better a good American salmon than an Irish Pinkeen. It's time to shake the shamrocks of the Irish Dramatists. It's time to get them to look at the sun instead of peeping out on life through a coloured glass cathedral window -- and a poor window, too, plaguing the saints asking their permission to write this or to write that. Cathleen Ni Houlihan can't become the mother of all living, but she is in danger of becoming the mother of all that is dead. And so let the Irish Dramatists learn from those that leap around the fire of life, rather than from those who crawl around an altar candle...Whitford Kane's prodcution of Juno [and the Paycock] was evidently a great success. He intends to take it to New York to show it with a good company..." 2 February 1927: "Hope W.B. [Yeats] and L[ennox] Robinson will be allright again shortly. When will the whole, complete and entire Abbey Co be coming over here for a short season?..."
