William Till (†8 April 1844), coin dealer from 1831 and a founding member of the Numismatic Society of London in 1836, traded from 17 Great Russell street. He struck a number of private tokens in his own name, the dies for many of which were engraved by W.J. Taylor. The Slough tokens made for him by Taylor, c. 1839, commemorate his father, also William, who was a wine and spirit merchant and the proprietor of the Red Lion Inn, formerly located on the north side of the Great West road near the corner of Stoke Poges lane, now the Brunel bus station in Slough
