Northamptonshire : 1870-1891 range (54) with die proof in black on card with value tablet blank; plate proofs (5, most in issued colours) with value tablet blank on gummed paper; "SPECIMEN" with dull blue 10s., chestnut 2s. 6d., 10s. and #1, green 2s. and green overprinted "GAOL" 1d. to #1 set of seven values; "CANCELLED" with brown #1, green 4s. and 6s.; unused with dull blue 1d., 6d., 1s. (3), 2s. 6d. and 5s.; chestnut 1d. (2), 6d. (2) and 1s., pale chestnut 1d., 6d., 1s., 2s. 6d., 5s., 10s. and #1 pale chestnut overprinted "GAOL" 1d. to #1 set of seven values, green 1d., 6d., 1s., 2s. 6d., 5s., 10s. and #1; a few faults but mostly fine and a very useful array.
