[Nine Year's War - Spanish Netherlands] D'AUVERGNE, Edward A relation of the most remarkable transactions of the last campaigne, in the Confederate Army, under the command of His Majesty of Great Britain, and after, of the Elector of Bavaria, in the Spanish Netherlands, Anno Dom. London, D. Newman, 4to: [8]-pp. (cut short occasionally shaving pagination at top). Mod. blind-ruled marbled calf, gilt spine with morocco labels, a.e.g., volume filled up with blank paper. Nice copy. An account of the Nine Years’ War which includes an account of the Siege of Namur. Edward D’Auvergne (1660-was an army chaplain and is best known for his military histories. The dedication is to John Grenville, first Earl of Bath, who was colonel of the regiment D’Auvergne was assigned to. Title within double ruled border. With an initial imprimatur leaf. Ref. ESTC R- Wing D-Prov. Thomas Francis Fremantle, 3rd Baron Cottesloe, 4th Baron Fremantle (1862-1956), collector of English military books (arm. bookpl.).
