NIGHTINGALE, Florence (1820-1910). Autograph inscription signed ('Florence Nightingale with best Christmas love 1896') addressed to Miss Joan Bonham-Carter, in pencil, on the front endpaper of H.W. Longfellow, Forget-me-Not , illustrated by Catherine Klein, 7 leaves, 8vo, bound as issued . Joan Bonham-Carter was the only daughter (of the family of twelve) of Florence Nightingale's cousin, Henry Bonham-Carter (1827-1921), barrister and company director. He assisted Florence in her private and public affairs, in the running of the Nightingale Training School and was secretary of the Nightingale Fund (1861-1914).
