Braddock Mead (c. 1688-1757) A Map of the Most Inhabited Part of New England Containing the Provinces of Massachusetts Bay and New Hampshire, with the Colonies of Connecticut and Rhode Island, Divided into Counties and Townships: The whole composed from Actual Surveys and its Situation adjusted by Astronomical Observations. London: Thomas Jefferys, 29 November 1774. Four large separate panels on laid paper watermarked with a large fleur-de-lis, large margins, hand-outlined and colored in pink, yellow, and green, with sections of overlap left on each panel, the top left panel seemingly untrimmed, all edges of the plate mark visible, other panels with generous outside border margins; the map printed by copperplate engraving and hand-colored, cartouche and inset of Boston left uncolored, each panel 23 x 21 in.
