A most exceptional example of extra-illustration that brilliantly encapsulates Nelson's meteoric career and the momentous clashes of the Napoleonic era in a dazzling collection of engravings, aquatints, original sketches and, most notably, a highly important series of original letters and documents of Nelson, the Hamiltons, fellow naval officers, associates, foes and contemporaries. An astounding collection, assembled before 1901, that would certainly be impossible to duplicate today.
