(A few volumes defective lacking a couple of issues, a couple of volumes with issues loose, a few issues in photocopy facsimile, one volume with adverts defective.) The majority bound in either purple or maroon cloth (spines slightly faded to earlier vols).

In addition to the longer review articles, book reviews, news and obituaries, the run CONTAINS THE FIRST PUBLICATION OF OVER 15,000 SCIENTIFIC ARTICLES and stands testament to the growth, diversification and development of science, not only in Britain, but throughout the world, during the latter part of the 20th-century.
