NATURAL HISTORY - FOSSIL BIVALVE AND GASTROPOD GROUP Lower Pleistocene Period, 1.5-1.0 million years BP A mixed group of twenty five bivalves and gastropods to include: a Middle Jurassic gastropod (sea snail) from Burton Bradstock, Dorset; a large Clavilithes macrospira gastropod from Barton-on-Sea, Hampshire; two Gryphea, "Devil's Toenails" from the Jurassic Period, Lyme Regis; two Macoma calcarca from Red Crag, Suffolk; fifteen Macoma obliqua from Red Crag, Suffolk; two Cerasto dermaedulae fromRed Crag, Suffolk; nine Mesosaccella morris from Lower Oxford Clay, Peterborough; one Spondylu spinosus from the Upper Cretaceous; a polished Jurassic Period bivalve; six Jurassic Period Gryphaea dilatate bivalve halves; a large Pteriahirundo from the Jurassic Period, Dorset; a large Jurassic Period bivalve Unio littoralis. 4.7 kg total, Unio littoralis fossil: 19cm (7 1/2"). [25, No Reserve] Condition Fine condition. Provenance From an old Bath paleontological collection, acquired 1930s-1940s.
