Letter signed ("Joseph" in a shaky hand) to his brother Louis Bonaparte as Comte de St Leu, Florence, 26 November 1842. 1 page, 4to, address leaf, in French, seal tear, unimpressed seal in red wax, in a fine giltwood frame . Joseph complains of the weather and his health, and mentions Jerome Bonaparte. -- BONAPARTE, Letizia (1750-1836), mother of Napoleon I . Autograph letter signed ("Madame") to her brother Cardinal Fesch, Albano, 24 July 1827. 1 page, 8vo, in Italian . Letizia forwards a letter from Julie, wife of her son Joseph, and asks that if it encloses a letter for her he is to send it straightaway, as she is concerned by the black seal. -- BEAUHARNAIS, Hortense de (1783-1837), wife of Louis Bonaparte . Manuscript document signed ("Hortense"), Constance, 22 May 1816. 3½ pages, folio, in French, light soiling , ARMORIAL SEAL OF THE FRENCH MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS (diameter 41 mm. (1½ in.)) in red wax (diameter 1½ in.), some cracking . Hortense appoints the Baron Devaux as her attorney for the sale of her property in France, with a number of counter signatures. -- SOULT, Nicolas-Jean-de-Dieu, Duke of Dalmatia (1769-1851), Napoleonic Marshal . Manuscript document signed ("Soult" with flourish), Laupheim, 27 Vendemiaire an 14 [19 October 1805]. ½ page, folio, on paper with printed heading of "Empire Français," in French , ARMORIAL SEAL OF SOULT in red wax (diameter 41 mm. (1½ in.)), a little unclear . Soult, as Commander-in-Chief of the 4th Corps of the Grand Armée, orders that French soldiers are to respect the property of the Baron de Saltein at Laupheim. -- O'MEARA, William (1764-1828), Baron of the Empire, Napoleonic General . Manuscript document signed ("Wm O'Meara Major"), Montpellier, 26 July 1806. 1 page, folio, in French , ARMORIAL SEAL OF THE ISEMBOURG REGIMENT in red wax (oval, 42 x 34 mm. (1¾ x 1 3/8 in.), a crowned device surmounted by an eagle) in a fine giltwood frame . A certificate of good conduct for a lieutenant of the Isembourg Regiment, with six other signatures.
