Title: ''My Golf Game'' - personal golf album with photos and hand-written scores, etc. Author: Matejovsky, E.W. ("Matty") Place: Milligan, NE Publisher: Date: 1930-34 Description: [52] pp. + endpapers and 2 tipped-in typed leaves. With 25 mounted original gelatin silver-printed photographs chiefly of the original owner, E.W. “Matty” Matejovsky, one on the front cover, four on title leaf, others on endpapers, end-leaves, etc. Mounted engraved certificate award card “Hole in One Club of the Gillette Safety Razor Company…Antelope Golf Course, May 30, 1931.” Inked scores entirely throughout by Matejovsky dating from April 2, 1930 to July 15, 1934, played at various clubs, including: Antelope, Geneva, Harvard, Sutton, Crete, Hebron, York, Eastridge Lincoln, Field Club Omaha, Shrine, Hillside Hastings, and others; ending with 1934 Geneva Open Championship results between “Pickering” and Matejovsky (the latter of which won). (Oblong “Housh” album) 5½x9, full pebbled black leather, front cover stamped in gilt with a golfing vignette and lettered “My Golf Game.” Rare personal golfing album with hand-written score results and mounted photographs of and by E.W. “Matty” Matejovsky, from April 1930 to July 1934. Two typed leaves at end providing names of qualifiers and bracketed winners for the 1933 and 1934 Geneva Golf Club Tournament, both resulting in wins by “Matty” Matejovsky, each with a photo mounted (one on Milligan Public Schools – Nebraska letterhead with Matejovsky listed as Superintendent); and a newsprint photo clipping of Bobby Jones in middle of a swing affixed to rear endpaper next to 3 other actual photos of Matejovsky. Also, includes a scorecard printed on blue paper from the Gene Sarazen and Joe Kirkwood Golf Exhibition event at Miami Biltmore C.C. in Coral Gables, Florida with hand-written scores in pencil, laid in. The only Geneva Golf Club that could be located for the U.S. is in Alexandria, Minnesota. The Antelope Golf Course referred to here appears to be located in Dubois, Nebraska. Lot Amendments Condition: Minor rubs chiefly to edges; front hinge cracking, occasional slight fading and other minor wear to photos, otherwise a clean and attractive album overall; near fine.
