MV AGUSTA 175 CSS DISCO VOLANTE '50s Engine No. 470893SS VIN No. 419476 175cc – 4 STROKE Not registered, without documents The Meccanica Verghera (MV) Company started motorbike production at the end of 1945 with a 98cc two-stroke model. In 1952 it presented its first four-stroke production, the single-cylinder 175CST and CSTL, at the 1952 Milan Motor Show. A year later came the 175 CS Sport with some improvements to the engine, which increased maximum power to 15HP at 8,800 rpm and pushed the top speed to 135 km/h (84 mph). In terms of suspension, alternative solutions were offered with a race-developed Earles-type fork or the conventional telescopic fork. Its styling was unique, as the model featured a sculpted fuel tank, almost circular when viewed from above, which soon earned it the popular nickname 'Flying Saucer'. The proposed CSS is restored and fitted with some non-original components such as front shocks mounted on the more advanced Earles fork with spring preload adjustment. A general inspection before use is recommended.
