MUSSOLINI BENITO: (1883-1945) Italian Fascist Dictator of World War II. An excellent A.L.S., `Mussolini´, signed twice, one page, folio, Milano, 5th December 1917, to Paolo Orano, in Italian. The autograph text is written as a post-scriptum at the base of a T.L.S., `Mussolini´, on the attractive printed stationery of the journal "Il Popolo d´Italia", bearing the heading and beneath the journal´s name the printed text "Quotidiano Socialista - Fondatore: Benito Mussolini" (Translation: "Socialist Journal - Founder: Benito Mussolini"). I have published the new making people believe that the measure had already been taken and I followed it up with a footnote. If the censorship does not intervene, it will be released tomorrow in the Milan edition and later in the Rome edition. Government tolerance is simply monstrous. Who want to repeat 66? Public opinion here is very restless. I'm sending you this flyer. We go to direct action, as it already happened in May 1915 when no less than I32 German companies were demolished") To the base of the page and beneath his signature, Mussolini adds in his hand `P.S. I reopen the letter. The censorship has let it pass. I'll send you 10 copies for the Popolo. The notice will also go to the Roman Edition, which is the one that arrives in Florence…") Mussolini signs a second time alongside his autograph post-scriptum `Saluti cordialissimi - Mussolini´. Light ink stains to some words, with a very small repair to the left edge, otherwise G Paolo Orano (1875-1945) Italian Psychologist, Politician and Writer. A leading figure within the National Fascist Party, in part through his legitimization of anti-Semitism. Orano was captured in 1944 and was imprisoned with Italian fascist officials at Padula prison camp. He would die the year after following an ulcer haemorrhage.
