Day, lacking Cape Barne Glacier (here supplied in good quality facsimile), 33 plates (some after photographs), illustrations to text, light spotting, original blue pictorial cloth with plate mounted to front board and gilt lettering, gilt to backstrip faded, boards marked, extremities worn, 4to, limited signed edition, number 133 of 280 copies Spence 830. Taurus 61. Rosove 236. The limited De Luxe edition of this account of Shackleton's 1907-09 Nimrod Expedition. Being an unofficial account, Shackleton considered it a "more human document" (introduction).
