Edinburgh: John Wreittoun, 1629 8° (142 x 92mm). Collation: * 8 A-P 8 Q 4 . (Lacking final blank; small rusthole in B1; blank outer corner torn from K8.) Small woodcut of a tree on *7. Contemporary limp vellum (ties lacking). Provenance: Alexander More (perhaps the antagonist of Milton? 1616-70) inscribed on flyleaf; Thomas Ruddiman, Scottish historian of literature (1674-1757) with bookplate; Richard Heber, note inside upper cover (purchased from Constable catalogue, Edinburgh 1800, for ¨1-1-0). ONLY EDITION of this volume of devotional poetry, followed by 11 sonnets. This was Mure's most ambitious literary effort. There are dedicatory poems by William Drummond of Hawthornden, John Adamson William Forbes, etc. STC 18063 (lists 8 copies).
