MUHAMMAD BIN SULAYMAN AL-JAZULI (D.1472 AD): DALA'IL AL-KHAYRAT OTTOMAN TURKEY, LATE 18TH CENTURY Prayers in honour of the Prophet Muhammad, Arabic manuscript on paper, 82ff. plus four fly-leaves, each folio with 13ll. of black naskh script, with gold and polychrome roundel verse markers, titles in white thuluth script on gold within gold and polychrome illuminated cartouches, text within black-ruled gold frame, further text in smaller naskh script in the margins written diagonally and within a black-ruled gold frame, opening folio with finely illuminated headpiece, with two original depictions of Mecca and Medina followed by a folio with illuminated headpiece, in gilt burgundy morocco binding with flap, with lavender-blue paper doublures, very clean throughout Text panel 4¼ x 2¼in. (10.6 x 5.7cm.); folio 6¾ x 4 3/8in. (17 x 11.1cm.)
